UNC Asheville Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) has developed a Robot and Robotic Systems Safety Program to establish minimum requirements for the design, rebuild, installation, safeguarding, maintenance, testing, start-up, and employee training as it relates to, or use of, robots or robotic systems. This program augments applicable standards (ANSI/RIA R15.6-2012 and 29 CFR 1910.212) established for the safe construction and operation of robots and robotic systems.
This Program applies to all employees/staff, faculty, students, visitors, vendors, and contractors at the University of North Carolina – Asheville and its associated off-campus facilities who design, install, operate, and service academic robotic systems.
